Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
